Prologue: Dragonball z is the story of Goku a saiyan from the planet vegeta. Who originally was sent to earth to destroy it but since he was dropped on his head as a child he forgets his original mission and settles down into many adventures that are in the show and some that are told about in other shows. In Dragonball Z the story starts off 18 years after Goku arrives on earth and he has a wife Chi-Chi and a son Gohan. He is traveling to his master’s house where there is a party going on until they get an unexpected visitor. That Visitor is Raditz another saiyan who is Goku’s brother. Thus begins the saiyan saga

Saiyan Saga: The saiyan saga begins with Raditz telling Goku about his history and that he’s a saiyan and that he wants him to join with him to take over the earth and the rest of the universe. When Goku refuses Raditz kidnaps Gokus son Gohan and tells Goku if he wants his son back to meet him and fight for Gohan. Goku is on his way to fight Raditz when he meets Piccolo who is Gokus enemy but the danger of the situation makes team up. After a long battle Piccolo and Goku are almost defeated when Gohan powers up and hurts Raditz long enough for Piccolo to charge up an attack to kill Raditz but Raditz tries to dodge the attack so Goku has to hold him while Piccolo fires the blast that kills Goku and Raditz. The surprise is that 2 more saiyans are headed to earth and they’ll be there in one year to get the dragonballs. Piccolo then plans to train Gohan and make him strong enough to fight the two saiyans. After Goku dies since he made a sacrifice he can travel across snake way to train under the master king kai. All the time that Goku spends traveling snake way, Piccolos training Gohan. After about six months Goku finally reaches king kais planet and begins to train he learns new techniques like the spirit bomb and the kaio ken attack. When the saiyans Vegeta and Nappa arrive Goku is still training but the z-fighters Piccolo, Gohan, Tien, Yamcha, Krillin, and, Chatozu. The saiyans pull out seeds and plant the saiybamen who are little aliens and they fight the Z-fighters. Yamcha gets killed and Krillin kills all the saiybamen. Nappa finally stars in and Chatozu sacrifices himself to no avail because Nappa survives. Then Nappa kills Tien and the fight between Nappa and the 3 remaining Z-fighters begins. While the battle is on Goku gets wished back using the dragonballs and heads back toward the check in station where he’ll get transported back to the earth. Nappa and the Z-fighters fight for along time then when Nappa fires and energy blast at Gohan, Piccolo takes the blow and is killed by it .As Nappa is about to attack Gohan and Krillin, Goku finally arrives and disposes of Nappa real quick. Goku tells Gohan and Krillin to leave and that he’ll take care of Vegeta. Goku and Vegeta engage in a battle for the ages where each fighter is pushing the other to there limits and beyond. Near the end of the battle Goku and Vegeta fire there respective best attacks and Goku wins this battle but Vegeta Has a trump card the one all saiyans who still have there tails do the power to transform into a giant ape in the shadow of the full moon. Vegeta transforms and is destroying Goku until Yajorobi cuts off Vegetas tail and makes him go back to normal. After this Vegeta gets up and to his surprise Gohan transforms and hurts Vegeta bad finally Vegeta escapes with his life and swears he’ll come back to kill Goku. The aftermath is that all their friends are dead and the dragonballs are gone because piccolo is dead and that know one can be brought back or so they think. That concludes the saiyan saga.

Frieza Saga: The Frieza saga starts off when Krillin and Gohan and the rest of the gang are at the hospital visiting Goku when they learn that there is another set of dragonballs on the planet Namek. This gives the gang a new goal and they devise a plan but they reach a problem Namek is too far for any of the spaceships to reach within a lifetime so there stuck. Suddenly Mr.Popo arrives and tells Bulma and everyone else that they can use the ship Kami used when he came from Namek. After they get the ship Gohan, Krillin and Bulma head off to Namek. Goku spends a while in the hospital and is recuperating. Vegeta also learns of the Namek dragonballs and heads off for Namek to find them. Frieza is a galactic tyrant with unfathomable power and he is also looking for the dragonballs. Basically to save myself a lot of writing there are seven dragonballs on Namek and different characters find them they switch hands many times and eventually Frieza ends up with all seven. But he can’t use them because the dragon can only be summoned in the Namekian language. All the while that these events are going on Goku has gotten out of the hospital and is headed to Namek to help Gohan. Goku had a gravity machine built into his spaceship so he can train at up to 100 time’s normal gravity. When Frieza realized he couldn’t use the dragonballs he set out to find Guru the Namek elder who created the dragonballs. With Frieza gone Gohan and Krillin try to steal the dragonballs but are confronted by the Ginyu squad which are Friezas most powerful henchmen. The battle ensues and Krillin and Gohan defeat one of the ginyus, but are defeated by the second. Vegeta then shows up and is also defeated. Just when all hope seems lost Goku shows up with senzu beans. Senzu beans are magical beans that heal people. Goku powers up and easily defeats three of the ginyus; the only one who is left is Captain Ginyu. Captain Ginyu and Goku fight to a stalemate until Goku powers up to his maximum and ginyu knows he’s defeated him then reveals his power to change bodies and changes with Goku. After this Ginyu flies off and heads back to where the dragonballs are he discovers Gohan and Krillin and a battle ensues between them. This goes on until Goku shows up in ginyus body and helps Gohan and Krillin they overpower Ginyu and he goes to change bodies with Vegeta but at the last minute Goku throws a frog In the way of the beam and Ginyu is turned into a frog and Goku is put back in his body. During the Ginyu fight Frieza was headed to Gurus. He arrives and trys to make Guru give him the password but he refuses and sends his best fighter Nail to fight Frieza nail leads Frieza away from Gurus. Guru realizes the urgency of the situation ad sends Dende to tell Gohan the password so he can use the dragonballs. Nail and Frieza are fighting and nail quickly realizes that he’s no match for Frieza ad he starts stalling Frieza then beats Nail effortlessly and heads back to the dragonballs. Dende finally arrives and tells Gohan the password and that the Namekian dragon grants three wishes. They summon the dragon and start wishing, the first wish is to bring Piccolo back to life and the second wish is to transport him to Namek. Before the third wish can be said Guru dies and the dragonballs die with him. When the battle with Ginyu was over Vegeta brought Goku into Friezas ship to heal him in a rejuvenation chamber Goku is left and Vegeta heads back to the dragonballs. When Vegeta gets back Frieza shows up and the ultimate battle ensues. Frieza is overwhelmed by Vegeta and is forced to transform into his second form. This second form is also too weak to beat Vegeta and Gohan so Frieza transforms again into his third form this proves to be too much for Gohan and Vegeta and Krillin. As Piccolo arrived on Namek he found Nail left for dead after his battle with Frieza so Nail suggests that he fuses with Piccolo which means that Nail would become part of Piccolo an increase his power but he could keep his body. Piccolo is sketchy to agree but with the promise of increased power Piccolo accepts and they fuse. The new Piccolo is improved and ready to fight he heads for the battle with Frieza. Back at the battle Frieza is defeating Gohan but Vegeta has a plan since saiyans get stronger every time there revived from near death he suggests that Krillin beat him up and have Dende heal him in hopes he’ll get strong enough to defeat Frieza. Before Vegeta gets a chance to follow through with his plan he is interrupted by Piccolo and Piccolo tells the others to back off and fights Frieza by himself. Piccolo and Frieza fight to a stalemate then Frieza reveals that he has one more form and that he’ll crush everyone. As Frieza powers up the plan Vegeta made earlier goes into effect but when Friezas done he quickly takes Vegeta out. Goku arrives just in time to watch Frieza kill Vegeta. Vegeta tells Goku about Frieza and tells him to kill him for the Saiyan race. Goku buries Vegeta and Powers up and the long fight between Goku and Frieza begins. To sum it all up Goku and Frieza toy with each other for a while until Frieza powers up beyond Goku and start to beat him bad. Goku then devises top use the spirit bomb to kill Frieza but Frieza wont let Goku have enough time so Piccolo steps in and Gives Goku enough time to finish the spirit bomb its fired and Frieza is defeated or so they thought. Goku, Piccolo, Gohan, and Krillin are celebrating when Frieza comes back and almost kills Piccolo and does kill Krillin this incident sends Goku into a mad rage and he turns into a Super Saiyan, Frieza is amazed and Goku tells Gohan to take Piccolo and leave the planet. With Gokus new power Frieza knows he‘s defeated so in a last ditch effort to win he tries to blow up the planet but he holds back to much. The result is that Namek is ticking time bomb ready to explode at any time. Goku is amazed but still thinks he can beat Frieza so the battle continues. Goku and Frieza fight until Goku realizes that if Piccolo dies this will be all for naught. So they devise a plan to use the earth Dragonballs to bring back all the people killed by Frieza thus making most of the Nameks and Guru come back also Vegeta is revived. They then use the last wish of the Namek dragon to transport all the people on Namek to the planet Earth. After this is achieved the final round of the battle between Goku and Frieza begins. Goku is overpowering Frieza until Frieza pulls out an attack that can slice through anything. Goku dodges this attack and Frieza is eventually cut down by his own attack and the battle is over. Back on earth everyone tries to figure out what happened the Guru explains and Vegeta goes off to look for Goku. Goku is about to leave Frieza when Frieza begs for mercy Goku gives Frieza enough power to fly away and he heads for his spaceship But Frieza tries to attack Goku and Goku kills him. But he doesn’t really have a way off the dying planet so it shows the planet blowing up and leaves you wondering if Goku got off or died. On Earth the Nameks and The rest of the Gang use the Namekian Dragonballs to wish back Krillin, Yamcha, Tien and Chatozu. When they try to bring back Goku the dragon says he’s not dead and it leaves you wondering where Goku is. Thus concluding the Frieza Saga.

The Garlic Jr. Saga:  The Garlic jr. saga takes place after Goku kills Frieza and hasn't returned to earth yet. Garlic jr. also appeared in Dbz movie 1 when it tells the story of the dead zone and how his father and Kami were in contention for the guardian of earth job. Kami won and Garlic tried to kill him but Kami defeated him and killed him. In the end of movie 1 garlic jr. is sealed in the dead zone but before that he used the dragonballs to wish for immortality. Garlic then comes back and takes over Kamis lookout along with his henchmen the spice boys. Garlic then looks for the black water mist which will turn all the earthlings to zombies which he can control. Gohan, Piccolo, and Krillin go to stop garlic jr. while Kami and Mr. Popo try to get the sacred water which is the only cure for the black water mist. The battle gets intense and is hard for the heroes because they cant kill Garlic jr. because he's immortal. While this battle is going on, Vegeta is traveling from planet to planet looking for Goku because he wants to know how he became a super saiyan. Back on earth Kami finally got the sacred water and used it to cure all the earthlings. Garlic jr. realizes that his plan is ruined and opens the dead zone to kill everyone, but Gohan powers up and kills its power source forever sealing away the threat known as Garlic jr. Thus concluding the Garlic jr. Saga.

The Cell Saga: the Cell saga begins with a time of peace and then all of the sudden all the Z-Fighters sense Frieza and they all set out to confront him when he arrives. The way that Frieza survived is that he can breathe in space so as long as part of his body was intact he could survive. Friezas father king Cold is the one who saved Frieza and had his engineers put Frieza back together and made him stronger. Frieza and his father arrive and are about to go kill the Z-fighters But they are interrupted by Trunks a saiyan from the future. Trunks easily disposes of Frieza and King Cold by turning into a super saiyan. Trunks then tells the Z-fighters that Goku will arrive very soon, so they go to the spot where he’ll land. Finally Goku arrives and Trunks and Goku go somewhere to talk Trunks then explains that he is from the future and that in three years he’ll be born and he explains that he’s Vegeta and Bulmas son. Trunks also warns Goku of the androids killing machines made with the sole purpose of destroying Goku. Trunks also says that Goku will die from a heart disease and the androids will kill everyone else. So then trunks leaves and Goku and the rest of the Z-fighters start to train for three years and on the day Trunks said they set out to fight the androids. There are only two androids and Goku is fighting on when the disease Trunks told him about hits him and he’s is about to get killed when Vegeta comes and saves him. Vegeta goes Super Saiyan and disposes of 1 of the androids and the other runs away. The Other sets free two more androids and they are even stronger. Trunks comes back to help but realizes that something has changed and that there are three androids instead of two. The Z-fighters try to fight the androids but are crushed. Piccolo tries to fuse with Kami so he can become strong enough to defeat the androids they fuse and Piccolo becomes significantly stronger. He senses that a new thing has arrived and he goes to confront it he meet as it and its name is Cell. Cell is the ultimate android his total goal is to absorb the androids and become perfect. Again to save myself lots of time and make my grade better I’m going to sum up lots of stuff into a little bit. Cell tries to find the androids he does and absorbs them and becomes incredibly strong. By becoming perfect the other androids are a part of him. The whole time Cell is doing this Goku, Gohan, Vegeta and Trunks are all training in the hyperbolic time chamber to make themselves stronger this basically leads up to the Cell Games and that is the tournament that will decide the fate of the world. The Cell games are a tournament in which the z- fighters fight cell the participants are Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Trunks, Piccolo, Krillin, Tien, Yamcha and Mr. Satan. Mr. Satan is a mildly important character who does a couple of good things throughout the story so ill talk about that when it comes. Goku is the first person who fights Cell the battle is long and fierce Goku and Cell are equal until Cell powers up and since Goku knows he can’t beat Cell he quits and says that his son Gohan can defeat Cell. Goku’s plan is that if Cell pushes Gohan too far he’ll snap and raise his power to the next level. Gohan starts to fight Cell and Cell is crushing him until android 16 jumps in and self destructs to kill Cell but his attempt fails because his explosive device has been removed. When 16 Destructs he burst into pieces and talks to gohan and tells him to let it all go and then Cell crushes 16’s head and this pushes Gohan over the edge he transforms into super saiyan level 2 and is easily defeating Cell but Cell tries to self destruct and is about to blow up the earth when Goku uses his instant transmission to teleport himself and Cell to King Kais planet and the blast kills all of them and the earth is saved or so they thought. Cell actually regenerates and Gohan has to fight him again they both shot Kamehameha waves and lots of energy is put into the blasts it looks like Cell is about to win when Vegeta shoots a blast that distracts Cell long enough for Gohan To push all of his energy into the blast and kills Cell. Thus starting a new period of peace and ending the Cell Saga.

The Buu Saga: This is the final saga of Dragonball Z and it begins with the world tournament saga in this the Z-fighters fight and learn of the wizard Babidi from The supreme Kai and they also learn that his goal is to free Majin Buu and to destroy the universe. Babidi lures the Z-fighters to his space ship where Dabura is waiting to absorb their power to free Majin Buu. The only fighters who went are Vegeta, Goku, and Gohan along with the Supreme Kai. They fight a couple of mediocre fighters that they dispose of easily. Finally Gohan and Dabura fight and Dabura realizes that Vegeta Can be turned evil and make him destroy Goku and Gohan. Vegeta becomes evil and tries to fight Goku and they are confronted in the ultimate saiyan battle where they both go SS2 and fight all there energy is taken and Buu is freed. Majin Buu Easily defeats all comers but Goku can’t fight because Vegeta tricked him knocked him out and stole his senzu bean. Vegeta tries to kill Buu by self destructing and he fails. Goku finally awakens and he hopes to use the fusion technique to fuse with Gohan to make them stronger, But Gohan was killed by Buu so he’s out of luck. Suddenly a beacon of hope arrises Goten and Trunks Vegetas and Gokus sons are the same height and power level so they can fuse. They realize that they’ll need the dragon radar to find the Dragonballs so trunks sets off to find the radar while Goku who only has about a few hours left before he goes back to the other world goes to confront Buu. Goku takes it up to the next level by turning Super Saiyan 3 and gives Buu a run for his money but he leaves before the battle can be finished. Goku teaches Goten and Trunks the fusion dance before he leaves and they work on it while Buu is destroying the earth. While Goten and Trunks are training Gohan and the supreme Kai are training With the Z-sword what they think is the most powerful weapon and hope Gohan can defeat Buu with it. The Boys Fuse into Gotenks and go to fight Buu, Buu defeats them and they go back to train. They fuse again as super saiyans and become powerful but they need more training. Mr. Satan tries to befriend Buu and is successful until a sniper kills Buu’s dog and releases Buu’s evil energy and Creates Evil Buu. The two Buus fight and the evil one absorbs the good one thus creating Super Buu. Super Buu senses Gotenks and heads to fight him Piccolo stalls Buu long enough to let Gotenks learn new tactics inside the hyperbolic time chamber which is a room In another dimension that lets a whole year go by in one day. Buu enters and fights Gotenks, Buu is over powering Gotenks so Piccolo destroys the door and traps them in forever. Buu escapes by putting a rip in the dimension and he escapes killing everyone left on the earth. Gotenks explains he had a new attack which is turning Super Saiyan 3. When Goku’s time was up he went to help Gohan train and He says to Gohan lets se how sharp the sword is and they end up breaking the sword and the Elder Kai is released he says to Gohan he can make him stronger in 20 hours if he just sits there. Back on earth Gotenks Powers up to SS3 and Fights Buu Gotenks is overwhelming Buu until his fusion wears off and they split back into two people. Luckily Gohan comes and he’s more powerful than ever he is fighting Buu and Whooping him until Buu absorbs Gotenks and Piccolo. With this new Power Buu is unbeatable to Gohan. Goku learns from the elder Kai that he can fuse with Gohan by using the fusion Earrings. The Elder Kai sacrifices his life for Goku’s and Goku heads back to earth. Goku arrives and tells Gohan the plan and before they can fuse Buu absorbs Gohan and his power increases dramatically. Luckily king Yemma lets Vegeta go back to earth and Goku finds him and they fuse in the ultimate Saiyan Vegito. Vegito has the power to crush Buu but Gets Absorbed on purpose to save his friends. The Fusion wears off inside Buu. Goku and Vegeta free their friends and also the old Good Buu After freeing good Buu, Buu transforms into kid Buu who is just as strong and evil. Goku devises a plan to use the Namek dragonballs to with for the earth back and all the people who Buu killed back, the last wish is saved. Goku attempts to create a Spirit Bomb with the help of Mr. Satan he Creates it fires it at Buu. The problem is that Buu is pushing it back but Vegeta suggests that the last wish is to give Goku his energy back so he can over power Buu. Goku says farewell and wishes that Buu be wished back as a good child so Goku can train him. Goku then kills Buu and peace is restored to the earth once more. At the next world tournament a new fighter arrives he is Ubuu and Goku realizes that he is Buu and Takes him to train after he says good bye to his family and friends thus ending the Buu saga and the series Dragonball Z.
